So other than finally learning how to use chopsticks this year as a resolution, the other thing I thought I could work on was my credit score, which has been fair but could be better. I have the Credit Karma app and would just check in periodically. Always the two scores, one from Trans America, the other Equifax, would be at most 8 points different from one another. After having recently paid down my one major card I assumed that my score would go up, seeing as the balance on your cards is a pretty significant factor. So I check today and Equifax went up by roughly 40 points but Trans America went down by 40 points, so now there is an 80 point gap but both report having the same exact information. WTH?
Working in retail and seeing how credit scores vary wildly between one customer to the next in ways that make no sense really has me wondering how valid it can really be. And this vast difference when before there was no difference, when nothing in my situation has really changed, kinda backs up that it's bunk.
